Responsibilities:
The Parking Ministry at Agape International Spiritual Center is responsible for the organized and stress free management of all congregant vehicles utilizing the several designated parking lots in the Buckingham Heights Business Park along with two alternative parking structures located approximately 2 blocks away; 100
Corporate Point and 200 Corporate Point.
Parking attendants bring positive energy/ good vibrations to arriving congregants, be they long-term members or first time arrivals. The Parking Ministry is truly vital in successful Agape operations in that is sets the tone of the experience to follow.
Duties:
The lower parking lot (referred to as the Lower Lot) is the closest area available for general parking at Agape. Parking volunteers put up a sign that designates entrance to Lower Lot every Sun/Wed.
During regular business hours the parking lots surrounding Agape are used by various businesses. Parking volunteers are to reserve spaces for certain business every Sun/Wed.
Our major parking structures available for general parking are located several blocks south on Buckingham Pkwy. A shuttle service is provided from 100 and 200 Corporate Point, therefore parking volunteers must keep clear the area designated for Shuttle drop-off and pick-up.
Many congregants are brought to Agape by family, by taxi, etc., because of this parking volunteers reserve a drop-off and pick-up area on the street for the general public.
Agape is a place open to all, and supported by the ALL. This includes occasional visits from spiritual leaders from around the globe and other valued guests. Parking volunteers reserve parking for special guests.
Agape Sunday and Wednesday operations are largely facilitated by our volunteers, who as a collective are willing to fulfill the various needs of this community. Parking volunteers reserve parking for Agape’s Sacred Service volunteers.
Sunday services bring congregants and visitors from all over California, the US, and the world. The large volume of vehicles requires parking volunteers to place cones down the center of the street (on Sun) to provide clear lanes for arriving and exiting congregants.
General parking is available in the Main Lot on Wed evening service. On Wed evening parking volunteers reserve spaces for disabled congregants in the main lot.
On Sunday’s Agape opens its doors to vendors that have gained the respect and trust of our community. On Sunday’s parking volunteers provide space for vendors approved by the Quiet Mind Bookstore.
FYI:
All parking volunteers are provided with a map of Agape International Spiritual Center denoting parking volunteer positioning/placement in addition to which parking lots are available. Safety vests are provided to volunteers; walkie-talkies are used for communication throughout service and flashlights are available on Wed evenings.
