Release into the Reverie
Agape Annual New Year Silent Meditation Retreat
facilitated by Michael Bernard Beckwith
Friday, December 29, 2017 – Monday, January 1, 2018
Joshua Tree Retreat Center, Joshua Tree, CA
Rev-er-ie – n. 1. a state of dreamy meditation; 2. a fantastic, visionary or impractical idea.
Rev. Michael teaches that in order for us to break out of societal bounds, we have to be impractical according to its limited paradigm. Nothing practical creates evolution. Reverie is the state from which Albert Einstein and George Washington Carver created.
The vibration of the word “reverie” stirs our soul’s innate desire to release into a state of meditative awe. Transport yourself from the outer practicalities of everyday life into an inner embrace of all-consuming Love.
As we release ourselves from attachment to limiting societal and cultural paradigms, hard-held mindsets and ego’s cherished opinions, we give ourselves permission to attune to our intuitive knowing, and we become available to insights, revelations and ideas well beyond what we can currently imagine. This is the evolution of the heart. There’s not a more sacred way to usher in this New Year than through Spiritual practice, spending our days together meditating, praying, chanting, introspecting and visioning. This creates the condition for ushering yourself into a state of deep release of the self into the Self. Then watch, reverentially, as you embody the exquisiteness of your being.
In support of our collective intention, we will share delicious, plant-based meals, do yoga, have silent time in nature and engage in a shamanic ceremony on New Year’s Eve, all on the sacred grounds of the Joshua Tree Recent Center in Joshua Tree, California.
About Joshua Tree Retreat Center
Joshua Tree Retreat Center (JTRC) is the oldest and largest retreat center in the western United States; a unique architectural landmark on a sacred site. As a non-profit 501(c)(3), our mission is to support the education and nourishment of the infinite human potential.
This land, though desert, rests upon an aquifer, a running river, producing an intriguing magnetic effect on those who enter this ancient and sacred space. Yogananda had walked this land in earlier times. It truly is a magical place. Most of the unique buildings at our site were built by world-renowned architects, Frank Lloyd Wright and his son, Lloyd.
JTRC offers open spaces, sacred meditation locations and serene vistas filled with native plants and plenty of wonderful spots to explore, including meditation paths, a labyrinth, medicine wheel and Tai Chi circles, a warm pool and a wellness center offering massage services.
